Grace Baxal
I am a self-taught artist who enjoys painting with acrylic, watercolor, and gouache. I am learning as I go and I think I always will. I create to express, to communicate, and to capture fragments of myself, and the world that I see.

Whispers of the Mountains

Hidden Scars
A watercolor painting exploring the wet on wet technique and the complementary colors of blue and orange. The image of a woman with her hands on her face came to me one day, and I tried to find a reference photo that matches my vision. When I found no photo of the pose I wanted, I took a picture of myself instead and used it as a reference. This is one of my favorite painting so far.

Look Beyond
A watercolor painting of eyes that look for flaws in beauty, and beauty in flaws.
